This beginner-friendly class is designed for anyone looking to learn the fundamentals of BJJ without the need for a gi. Whether you're interested in self-defense, fitness, or simply want to try something new, our class provides a welcoming environment for all.
Class Overview
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art focused on ground fighting and submission grappling. It emphasizes technique, leverage, and positioning, allowing smaller practitioners to defend themselves effectively against larger opponents. In this class, you will learn essential techniques and concepts that form the foundation of BJJ.

The beginners BJJ Class structure
- Warm-Up: Begin with a series of dynamic stretches and mobility exercises to prepare your body for movement and grappling.
- Fundamental Techniques: Learn basic BJJ positions, including guard, mount, side control, and back control. Seiji will guide you through essential techniques like escapes, submissions, and sweeps that form the core of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
- Drilling: Practice techniques with partners to reinforce learning and build muscle memory. This includes both solo drills and partner exercises to develop timing, flow, and responsiveness.
- Live Sparring: Engage in controlled sparring sessions (rolling) to apply what you've learned in a realistic setting. Sparring helps students understand how to use techniques under pressure while developing timing and strategy.
- Cooldown & Review: End each class with stretching and a recap of key techniques, allowing time for questions and further clarification.
What to Expect
- No Gi Required:
This class is conducted without a gi, allowing you to train comfortably in athletic wear. Just wear a fitted t-shirt and shorts, and you're ready to go!
